Eldar Supreme Autarch

Rules by Master Bryss
Eldar Supreme Autarch Autarchs are masters of war and tactics. Well, they were. With the advent of one U. Creed, they look a bit pathetic, especially now that Strategy Ratings are obsolete. Therefore I am redoing the Autarch. No new fluff, as technically this isn’t a new unit, just updating an old one. Cost: 100 points WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv 6 6 3 3

The Art of Internal Balance

The journey to diversity in this game is a long one and difficult to undertake. There are two ways to make common armylists more diverse, neither of them easy. The first is to add a lot more units to each codex which is already taking place with great success. The previous Imperial Guard codex had about 30 unit choices in it if you included special characters - the current one boasts about 50. I think it's safe to say the current codex is far more versatile offering many different build options to the IG player especially as it features no 'mandatory' units like the old version of the Command Squad.

The second way to add diversity is to the list of competitive lists is to make unit entries and upgrade options better with respect to each other.  What does this mean? Well when was the last time you heard of anyone using a Leman Russ Exterminator? Poor internal balance means choosing between units in the same category is really no choice at all. There's no reason to choose…

Inquisitor Gideon Ravenor and Retinue

Artwork by Aerion the Faithful. Feth he’s good.

Effing Awesome rules by Master Bryss A long time Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos and pupil of Inquisitor Eisenhorn, Ravenor was left interred in a force chair after the events on Thracian Primaris. This has only served to amplify his considerable psychic ability and allows him to still act as an Inquisitor. Over the years he has acquired a powerful retinue, some members came to him after leaving Eisenhorn, others he found on his travels. They have spent the past years investigating the strange artefacts known as Flects. Gideon Ravenor and his retinue may be taken as a HQ choice in Inquisitorial armies, and as an Allied HQ choice in Space Marine and Imperial Guard armies. Alternatively, his retinue may be taken as an Elites choice. Cost (Ravenor): 90 points Cost (Retinue): 180 points

Games Workshop and the Future of the Tabletop Gaming Industry

What if the video gaming mega titles like Call of Duty or Halo allowed you to craft your own environment from scratch or design, in intricate detail, the shape and appearance of your character, his weapons and armor and all of your allies? What if every game shifted to meet the needs of every player and could perform equally as well as any gamer's imagination?
Well then it would be a tabletop game wouldn't it? Because tabletop gaming is all about demolishing the barriers between the game designer and the game player. If you were to design Battlefield or any other AAA title, well you couldn't do it alone. You would need a few friends, very talented friends each with a carefully selected skillset (drawing, writing, programing etc) and plenty of time on their hands - perhaps a couple of years to start. Then you would need machines (computers), at least one for each friend, and they would have to be good machines that people know how to use so naturally you need more friends to…
